IDE (Parallel/ATA)
While practically every new computer comes with a Serial ATA interface, all of the older desktops and most of the new ones still have an IDE or Ultra ATA interfaces in them. Because of this, IDE drives still make a large portion of the storage market. Many of the latest technology drives were introduced as Serial ATA versions but now many are starting to come out in IDE.

Serial ATA (SATA I/II)
Serial ATA is the hot technology for hard drive storage thanks to its simplicity for users to install compared to the older IDE technology. Most of the innovation for hard drive performance and capacity are now showing up in these new drives.

Notebook (ATA-100)
